Front Range Convention (Avocets)

I have loved these tall, delicate shorebirds with their long, slightly upturned bills ever since I observed my first one on a CSU ornithology class field trip back in the 1970's. Now, every spring, I make sure to repeatedly visit the lakes and ponds where these beautiful shorebirds arrive on their return migration to nesting grounds further north and east of my home.
