Conservation
Our goal is to help support conservation organizations and projects we believe in by personally donating to these causes and by also donating a portion of our net proceeds from all our store sales.
Beginning in 2019, we are selecting an organization or project to support each month.
This winter, we will be donating to: Idea Wild!
We have personally supported this organization for several years because they support individuals and efforts to conserve biodiversity worldwide by providing biologists and educators working in developing countries with equipment and supplies to aid in their conservation efforts. We are also personally committed to continually working to reduce our own environmental footprint. We have installed a solar photovoltaic system to power our home and business and Sue's glass kiln. It also powers most of our heating, our hot water, and our primary vehicle, an all-electric Nissan Leaf.
We aim to recycle everything we can and choose to print our paper products on either post-consumer recycled paper or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper. We seek to ensure that any business we work with to produce our products shares our concern for nature and is similarly working to reduce the impacts of their business practices.
Thank you for your participation and support.
Together, we can change the world.
